A Trip Down Candy Cane Lane - Vents (Dec 12th)

This week we are moving our Wednesday meeting to December 12th.  Vents will be taking a trip to visit Candy Cane Lane this weekend.  Please dress for the weather and bring a food item for the Edmonton Food Bank.

We will be meeting at the local coffee shop on 149 Street & Stony Plain Road (the one with a star in its name) at 6:30 PM.

Venture Skate (Dec 2nd)

We will be meeting at the George S. Hughes Arena at 10525-72 Ave. we will be there for public skate from 6:30 to 7:30. To maximize the skate time feel free to show up before 6:30 to put your skates on.

Leadership! Part Deux (Nov 25th)

Venturers did a great job last week so they are getting another chance to show those leadership skills. Vents will be meeting at the Parkallen school this week to take lead with the different sections they have been assigned to.

Leadership (Nov 18th)

Vents will be meeting this week at the Parkallen School to practice their leadership skills.  Vents will be working with the adult leaders in the Cubs and Beavers sections.

Remember, Cubs and Beavers have teeth and they are not afraid to use them.

Venturers Investiture (Nov 4th)

Vents will be meeting at the Parkallen School in full uniform this week as we will be inversting our new members.  We will also be preparing for the Remembrance Day Parade on November 11th.

Venturer Halloween Party (Oct 28th)

Be prepared to have fun this October 28th. We will be having out annual Halloween Party at the Parkallen School. The will be games, haunted house and scary stories. Please dress up in full costume.

Venturer Swim (Oct 22nd)

Venturers will be going for a swim this week at the Commonwealth Recreation Centre Pool (11000 Stadium Road, attached to the Commonwealth Stadium, home of the Edmonton Eskimos!!!!) starting at 6:30 PM. Please dress warm and bring change for the locker rental.

Venturers Annual Fall Nature Walk (Oct 14th)

Venturers will be meeting at the Parkallen School this week to take part in our annual Fall Nature Walk through the Parkallen Neighbourhood. We will be delivering flyers for our upcoming Bottle Drive / Food Bank Drive taking place on October 17th. Please dress in uniform and dress for the weather.

Vent Fall Camp Prep (Sep 30)

Vents will be meeting at the Parkallen School this week.

Vents need to confirm with their advisor their Food Fear Factor menu for Fall Camp, camp activities and supplies they need to bring to camp.

Getting a Little Corny (Sep 23)

The Vents will be taking on a challenge from the Scouts, Cubs and Beavers on who has better skills at navigating. Best place to do this challenge is to enter the Corn Maze. Vents will be doing this without the aid of compasses and with one hand tied behind their backs. Please arrive at 6:20 pm at the Edmonton Corn Maze and dress for the weather and bring a flashlight.

Planning & Taking the Lead (Sep 16)

Venturers will be meeting with their advisors at the Parkallen School this week.   Venturers will need to plan their activities for the year and program planning for the upcoming Fall Camp.

Venturer Swim Up (Apr 29th)

We will be meeting at Emily Murphy Park (11904 Emily Murphy Park Road NW) at the sheltered Picnic Site (on your left when you enter the park). We will be holding our Swim Up Ceremony and Volunteer Appreciation that evening. There will be plenty of food and fun for the whole family. The fun starts at 6:30 PM.

Venturers Games Night (April 22nd)

Our Venture Year is almost at an end with few meeting left this month. This week we have planned games and Fort Edmonton Camp preparations.

We will be meeting at the Parkallen School this week at our regular time of 6:30 PM.

Preparing for Fort Edmonton Camp 2015 (April 15th)

Venturers have a busy week as they will be completing their preparations for the Fort Edmonton Scout Camp event Ghost Busters on the Trial activity. We will be meeting at the Parkallen School.

There will be no Venturer meeting this week due to Spring Break.  Our next meeting will be on April 9th at the Parkallen School.

Vent's going on a Scavenger Hunt

Since the weather is soooooo warm and nice the Vents will be visiting the University of Alberta for a scavenger hunt. We will be meeting at 6:30 PM in front of the Administrative Building (Building 67).  Parking is $5 at Education Car Park (Building 104).   Please dress for the weather.

 

No Vent Meeting This Week (Mar 4)

There is no Venturers meeting this week as the Vents are still recovering from our exciting Winter Camp.

Vents Camp Prep (Feb 25th)

Vents had a great time at Breakout on the weekend and were close to solving the mystery.

This week the Vents will be meeting at the Parkallen School to finish their camp preparations.

The Great Escape E-Vent (Feb 21st)

Vents have planed their February E-Vent for this coming weekend.  The Vents will be visiting Breakout Entertainment to rest their team work and problem solving skills to see if they can breakout.

The vents will be taking on the roles of CSI investigators in the 1408 theme.  They must solve the murder and escape the hotel room.

Vents will be meeting at 2 pm at the Breakout Facility located at 16604 - 109 Avenue.

Vent Camp Prep - Con't (Feb 11th)

Vents will be meeting this week at the Parkallen School.

Vents will be meeting with the advisor regarding February's E-Vent and help with planning Winter Camp activities.

Vent Winter Camp Prep (Feb 4th)

Vents will be meeting this week at the Parkallen School.

Vents will be finalizing their E-Vent date and preparing for Winter Camp 2015.

Event Planning for Fort Edmonton Camp 2015 (Jan 28th)

Our Vents will be meeting this week too discuss and plan the event that they are hosting at this year's Fort Edmonton Camp.  This year will mark the 20th anniversary of the camp and sadly the last camp that will be held at  the Fort Edmonton Park.

As always the camp will be fun, exciting and most of all challenging.  There will be Scout Truck races, badge trading, over 20 events to choose from, a camp fire and most of all a food challenge.

Fort Edmonton Camp will take place on May 1st - 3rd.

Hunger Scout Games Preparations (Jan 21st)

Our Vents will be meeting this week too discuss and plan the event that they are hosting at this year's Spring Thaw Camp.  The camp theme is based on the Hunger Games and each patrol will be set up in their own districts.  

As always the camp will be fun, exciting and most of all challenging.  There will be an auction, a carnival, an obstacle course, a camp fire and most of all a food challenge.

Spring Thaw Camp will take place on June 5 - 7th.

Leading the Way (Jan 14)

Vents will be working with their advisor for upcoming Fort Edmonton Camp & Spring The Camp prep.  Venturers have decided to plan and run an event in each camp this Spring.

Just a reminder that Spring Thaw Camp Committee meeting is on January 19th and Fort Edmonton Camp Committee meeting is on January 26th at the Scout House (14205 - 109 Avenue) starting at 7:00 pm.

First Venture Meeting of 2015 (Jan 7th)

Vents will be meeting with their advisor this week and will be meeting at the Parkallen School Gym starting at 6:30 pm.

Vents will be working on planning their program for the second half of this Scouting year as well as helping out as junior leaders.
