Venturer Year End Party (Dec 17th)

This will be our last regular meeting for 2014 before we break for the holidays.  Regular meetings will begin again on January 7, 2015 at the Parkallen School.  We will be meeting at the Parkallen School on December 17th starting at 6:30 PM.  We will be having an end of the 2014 year party, handing out badges, giving Venturers their "Vent Kar" kits to work on over the holiday break.

Venture Skate 2014 (Dec 10th)

We will be meeting at the George S. Hughes Arena at 10525-72 Ave. we will be there for public skate from 6:30 to 7:30. To maximize the skate time feel free to show up before 6:30 to put your skates on.

Venture Toboggan - Dec 3rd

Our next two meetings will be away from the Parkallen School and our last meeting before the holiday break will be on December 17th at the Parkallen School.

This week we will be going tobogganing at the Alfred H. Savage Centre (13204 Fox Drive) starting at 6:30 PM.  Please dress for the weather and bring on the adventure.

Planning Week (Nov 26th)

Venturers will be meeting at the Parkallen School this week to help plan the winter activities for December for our group.

Venturer Leadership Training (Nov 19th)

Venturers will be meeting at the Parkallen School this week and will be helping with Cubs and Beavers section programs as leaders this week. 

Vents - No meeting this week (Nov 12th)

There will be no meeting this week as leaders and Venturers need to recharge after Fall Camp.  We will be back at the Parkallen School Gym next week on November 19th.

Venturers Fall Camp Prep 2014 (Nov 5th)

Venturers will be helping in the investiture ceremony at the Parkallen School this week and will be finalizing activities for the upcoming Fall Camp on November 7th - 9th.

2014 Venturer Halloween Party

Be prepared to have fun this October 29th. We will be having out annual Halloween Party at the Parkallen School. The will be games, haunted house and scary stories. Please dress up in full costume.

 

Venturer Swim 2014 (Oct 22nd)

Venturers will be going for a swim this week at the Commonwealth Recreation Centre Pool (11000 Stadium Road, attached to the Commonwealth Stadium, home of the Edmonton Eskimos!!!!) starting at 6:30 PM. Please dress warm and bring change for the locker rental.

Venturers Annual Fall Nature Walk (Oct 15th)

Venturers will be meeting at the Parkallen School this week to take part in our annual Fall Nature Walk through the Parkallen Neighbourhood. We will be delivering flyers for our upcoming Bottle Drive / Food Bank Drive taking place on October 18th. Please dress in uniform and dress for the weather.

Preparing for Halloween & Bottle Drive - Oct 8th

Venturers will be meeting this week to finish organizing our upcoming Bottle Drive on Oct 18th and activities for our Halloween Party on October 29th.

Our Venturers will be returning to the Edmonton Corn Maze for the Farm of Fear.  Details to come.

Working on the Queen Venturers Award (Oct 1st)

Venturers will be meeting this week at the Parkallen School Gym.

We will be going over the remaining requirements for the Queen Venturers award, program activities and helping the leaders in the Beavers and Cubs section.

Junior Leader Week - Sep 24

Ventures will be meeting at the Parkallen School this week.  We will be working on our leadership skills this week by assisting the Cub & Beaver sections.  Reminder to Vents to get their activity plans to your advisor this week.

Going a Little Corny - Sep 17th

The Vents will be taking on a challenge from the Scouts, Cubs and Beavers on who has better skills at navigating.  Best place to do this challenge is to enter the Corn Maze.  Vents will be doing this without the aid of compasses and with one hand tied behind their backs.  Please arrive at 6:20 pm at the Edmonton Corn Maze and dress for the weather and bring a flashlight.

Beginning of a New Year (Sep 10th)

Venturers will be meeting at the Parkallen School gym this week starting at 6:30 pm.  It is time to plan the adventure for the 2014/2015 year.  Also you will continuing you rework as junior leaders in Cubs and Beavers.

Venturer Swim-Up 2014 (April 30th)

We will be meeting at Emily Murphy Park (11904 Emily Murphy Park Road NW) at the sheltered Picnic Site (on your left when you enter the park). We will be holding our Swim Up Ceremony and Volunteer Appreciation that evening. There will be plenty of food and fun for the whole family. The fun starts at 6:30 PM.

Venture Games Night - (April 16th)

Our Venture Year is almost at an end with few meeting left this month. This week we have planned games and Fort Edmonton Camp preparations.

We will be meeting at the Parkallen School this week at our regular time of 6:30 PM.

Wake up Vents - April 9th

Venturers,

Spring Break is over and it is time to get back to what we do best.  Bringing on the  Adventure!  Vents will be meeting with their advisor this week, updating Fort Edmonton Camp Prep and having fun.

We will be meeting at the Parkallen School at 6:30 PM.

Venturers on Spring Break - (April 2nd)

There is no meeting this week due to Spring Break.  Venturers next meeting is next week on April 9th at the Parkallen School.

This week Venturers will be donning their skates and showing everyone their mad skills on the ice.

Venturer Campfire Night - (Mar19th)

Venturers will be meeting at the Evangelical Fellowship Church (10511 - 79 Ave) in the youth room for a Campfire Celebration.   We will be meeting at 6:30 PM and please come in full uniform.

Venturer Tobogganing (Mar 5)

This week Venturers will be meeting at the Mill Wood Park for a night of tobogganing. The Toboggan hill is located next the park parking lot on 66 Street North of 23rd Avenue across the Street from Mill Woods Town Centre Mall. Please dress for the weather, bring your favourite toboggan and for safety please bring a helmet. We will be meeting at the hill starting at 6:30 PM. 

Venturers Winter Camp 2014 Prep - (Feb 26)

Venturers will be meeting at the Parkallen School this week to help with Winter Camp preparations.

Winter Camp Prep - (Feb 19th)

Venturers will be meeting with their advisor to go over plans for your Winter Camp at the end of the month.  Please note that bear wrestling, swimming in the river and fire juggling did not pass the risk assessment.

Junior Leadership Week - (Feb 12th)

Venturers will be working with Beavers and Cubs sections this week as junior leaders.  You will be working together with the Section Leaders on program planning and support.

Winter Camp Planning (Feb 5th)

Venturers will be meeting at the Parkallen School this week with their advisor to begin 2014 Winter Camp Preparations.

Venturers Ice on Whyte - (Jan 29th)

Venturers will be meeting at the Ice on Whyte Festival located at End of Steel Park: Gateway Blvd (103 Street) and Tommy Banks Way, Edmonton, Alberta.  Parents and siblings are welcomed to attend.

 Gate admission is:

 Children 2 - 12 years old $3
 Under 2 free

Event Planning - (Jan 22)

The Venturers have accepted the challenge of planning the Jamboree on the Trail for the Fort Edmonton Camp 2014. This week we willbe meeting at the Parkallend School to discuss ideas for this year's event.

Mentoring Week (Jan 15th)

Venturers will be meeting helping out as assistant leaders in the Cub Section this week at the Parkallen School.

First meeting of 2014 (Jan 8th)

Venturers will be meeting this week with their advisor to plan the rest of your 2014 activities and help with the game activities for our first meeting back at Parkallen School.
